"Learning is finding out what you already know"
History of our school..

In the year 1961 Rev. Fr. George Thachenkary, the then Parish Priest of St. Dominic’s Church, Kanjirapally, made a proposal to his parishners at the Pallikuttam to establish an English Medium School. The community unanimously agreed to that and they made a request to the Jesuits, known as the ‘Schoolmen of Europe’ to start a School in Kanjirapally. The Jesuits took up the challenge and started the school as the Sacerdotal Jubilee Memorial of Mar Mathew Kavukatt, then Archbishop of Changanacherry. It was named AKJM (Archbishop Kavukatt Jubilee Memorial) High School and called as Medium School.

At its inception it was located in the St. Dominic’s Parish campus. In 1963 it was shifted to the present site in a 10 acre plot, by the side of the KK Road (NH 220). Fr. Anthony Manjil, S J, was the first Head Master and Rev. Fr. George Thachenkary, the first Manager. From the beginning the school gave preference to the Catholic boys of Kanjirapally area. In a decade’s time a Boarding House was opened mainly to cater to the boys from Kuttanad and High Range areas. As a result of the spread of primary and secondary education in Kerala and with the children coming from nearby places, the Boarding House was closed down in 1995.. AKJM Junior School was established in the same year. In 2002 the AKJM Higher Secondary School was established. It has two batches - Biology and Science with Maths . In the same year the school went co- educational.
